Day 28 – Space to Think, Space to See

By Week Five, the rhythm of our Sunday #95Tribe walks had become more than just a tradition. They were now an essential part of our creative process. On Day 28, we walked from Newton Under Roseberry through the low woodland paths and open fields. It was the sort of route that encourages quiet thought rather than rapid conversation.

What emerged from that silence was something subtle but important: space.

We had been working intensely for almost a month — planning, building, refining, sharing — and the pace had been relentless. That morning reminded us that clarity often comes when you stop looking so hard. With the pressure off, new ideas started bubbling to the surface. Not wild changes or shiny features, but quiet questions: is our onboarding too heavy? Could we reduce the steps again? Should we delay one integration to improve speed?

None of these things got resolved on that day. But they surfaced. And that matters. When building a product, especially in public, it’s easy to fall into the trap of always performing. Always shipping. But thinking, reflecting, and making time for invisible progress is what keeps a product sane — and the team behind it balanced.

Key takeaway

Progress doesn’t always look like movement. Some of the most important steps happen when you stop to breathe.
