Day Twenty-Nine – Refocusing the Feature Set
We kicked off the day by welcoming our new Project Manager, Elizabeth, to the team. That meant diving into how we operate, walking through our internal systems and flows.
Then came a slight existential moment: turns out, I can’t count.
We originally announced a 42-day build — but didn’t include weekends. In all my excitement, I’d kept reporting daily. So technically… we’ve been on a 51-day build journey. But hey, no time off means extra progress, right?
We had a classic product moment: exciting feature ideas flying around… but we had to stop, step back, and ask — do we need this right now? Would the platform break without it?
That’s where discipline comes in.
We’re building SWAIN to be radical, yes — but also frictionless to adopt. For developers, that means no disruption to workflow, and real productivity gains. We tested SWAIN head-to-head against traditional API builds. The time saved was shocking.
Tomorrow, we promised the numbers.
Key takeaway
Cool features can wait. Solve the core problem, then sharpen it.
