Day Three – Wiring It Up: When Concepts Become Code
If Day Two was about talking, Day Three was about doing. Today we connected SWAIN to its first real database. It might not sound glamorous, but this was a pivotal moment, the transition from idea to something that actually runs.
The work was gritty and not exactly post-worthy. Errors popped up. A few false starts tested our assumptions. But we stayed focused. By the end of the day, we had SWAIN detecting tables, reading schema, and preparing to auto-generate API endpoints. We were finally getting a glimpse of the engine under the hood.
On LinkedIn, we kept the tone light with a raccoon reference and a reminder to chill. The reality was less hakuna matata and more controlled chaos. Still, that is what building looks like behind the scenes.
Later that day, we dropped a second update. This one nudged at a deeper truth: the dream of AI doing everything is nice, but we were not there. We had to write this one ourselves.
Key takeaway
Code creates clarity. The moment you wire it up, the real questions begin.
